Kadeema Rentals is a boutique design studio and furniture rental company based in Massachusetts, serving greater New England. They cater to clients who are looking for unique items for any celebration, event, production, or living space.
Cat from Gatto reached out to me to ask if I could help move the Kadeema Rentals website from Squarespace to WordPress, and develop a custom theme using her designs. Moving the client to WordPress would give us more control and flexibility over the website design, and would allow us to create a seamless integration with their event rental software of choice, Goodshuffle Pro.
Let’s take a closer look at some of my favourite features and functionality on the Kadeema Rentals website:
Goodshuffle Pro integration
Goodshuffle Pro is an all-in-one software for event rental companies. It has a wide variety of features including inventory management, quote and invoice generation, and client management. The client was already using Goodshuffle Pro to manage their rentals and wanted to continue using it on their new website.
Goodshuffle Pro works really well with WordPress, and they have developed their own plugin which can be used to pull through the rental inventory on to the website. But out of the box, the inventory pages don’t look great and they definitely didn’t match the rest of the Kadeema Rentals branding.
The Goodshuffle Pro plugin is very limited when it comes to customising the design of the inventory page, so I used custom CSS to style these pages and to ensure they looked like they were a part of the rest of the website.

I also styled the individual product listings that show up as pop-ups on the inventory pages:

Mega menu for inventory categories
Kadeema Rentals has a lot of products in its inventory, so we wanted to make it as easy as possible for customers to find what they’re looking for without having to click too much.

Cat designed this mega menu that appears when you hover over the “Rent + Shop” link in the main menu. The mega menu features links to the individual inventory category pages, as well as links to packages and the lookbook.
The mega menu is set up using the native menu functionality in WordPress, making it straightforward for the client to update these links should they wish.
Interactive Lookbook page
The client wanted to be able to showcase their rental products in the form of a Lookbook, and so we created a bespoke Lookbook page.

The Lookbook page was built to be easy for the client to update. The client can add as many lookbooks to the page as they wish, and for each lookbook they can give it a name, add multiple images, and add links to products within the inventory. If more than 6 products are added to the lookbook, the product list automatically turns into a slider.

FAQ page with categories
Kadeema Rentals know that their customers and clients will have a lot of questions prior to working with them, so we created a specific “Frequently Asked Questions” page where all of these questions could be answered in one place.
The FAQ page is interactive, with the answers to each question revealed when you click on it. This helps to reduce the length of the page and reduces overwhelm for visitors.
The questions and answers are also split into categories using tabs to help users to find the answer to their question as quickly as possible.

It’s super straightforward for the client to update the FAQ page. They can add additional categories and as many questions and answers within each category as they like through this user-friendly interface.

Here are some kind words from Cat about what it’s like to collaborate with me…
“Collaborating with Holly is a true dream. Not only does she have complete technical genius in WordPress, she doesn’t shy away from bold and unique design ideas that are tricky to bring to life. Holly does everything to keep me creatively in control and makes me feel like anything is possible for me and my clients! I couldn’t create the websites I do without Holly!”
